Route line across a hand-drawn map

A route animation tells a trip in twenty seconds: the map draws in, a dashed line travels from stop to stop with a marker, the camera follows it, and each stop gets a pin and a day label. The sample is drawn over a fictional archipelago.

The islands and the map are fictional, labelled on screen.

The prompt

A travel-route map animation over a FICTIONAL archipelago (invent four island names: Calder, Mirrin, Ostra, Vey). Keep a small tag 'Fictional map'. Draw the map in inline SVG: soft sea (#cfe3e8) with faint contour rings, sand-colored islands (#efe2c4) with a darker coastline stroke, a compass rose and a scale bar. (1) 0–3s the map draws in (coastlines stroke on), title 'Four islands, seven days'. (2) 3–16s a dashed route line draws from island to island (animate stroke-dashoffset) while a small boat icon travels along the path and the camera (an SVG viewBox or scaled group) follows it smoothly; at each stop a pin drops and a label card shows the island name and 'Day 1–2', 'Day 3', 'Day 4–5', 'Day 6–7'. (3) 16–20s the camera pulls back to the full route with all pins, end title 'Your route, animated.' Labels ≥32px, high contrast.

Make it yours

  1. 1List your stops in order (city or place names) and the day or date for each.
  2. 2Pick this template; the route draws stop by stop while the camera follows the marker.
  3. 3Choose a map style and a marker (boat, plane, car, pin).
  4. 4Generate the 20-second MP4 for a trip recap, a tour itinerary or a travel post.

Questions

Can it use a real map?

You can list real places. The map is drawn in a simplified illustrated style rather than as satellite or street tiles, so check the outline looks right before you publish.

Are the islands in the sample real?

No. Calder, Mirrin, Ostra and Vey are invented for this sample, and the video labels the map as fictional.

How many stops can I add?

Four to six stops keep each label on screen long enough to read in a 20-second video.

Can I change the marker?

Yes: a boat, a plane, a car or a simple pin.
